Envelope 2000® MCM Rain Screen Panels
MMEC Architecture of Spokane, Washington, utilized Citadel Architectural Products’ signature Envelope 2000® Rain Screen (RS) metal panel system for a majority of the façade. The design for this school was based on the Westgate Elementary plan, which opened in 2017 and also used metal exterior wall panels. In addition to providing color accents to a neutral palette, the metal panels were selected because of their durability, flat appearance, and low maintenance.
The Kynar paint finish provides long-term color stability backed by a 30-year warranty.
A local company fabricated and installed 13,000 square feet of Citadel Envelope 2000 metal panels. “We have been working with Citadel for several years and have completed quite a few projects with them,” according to the sheet metal estimator. “They are a pleasure to work with, and we like that they get the order in and processed promptly.”
The Citadel Envelope 2000 metal panels are 4 mm thick with a durable thermoset phenolic core and aluminum on both sides. They feature high-impact resistance and a fire-rated core. The rain screen system allows incidental moisture to enter and exit through weep holes.
